Brilliant R&B soul artist and entertainer Saturn taps into a strong vibe to create an original blend of R&B / soul music with an emotional twist. It's little wonder why his new radio single ‘Confessions Of Love’ is racing up the charts.

North Hollywood, California resident Saturn is a excellent example of a R&B soul artist that elegantly leverages his originality and compositional skills to the service of modern entertainment. His new single ‘Confessions Of Love’ demonstrates blazing musical stylings that are sure to appeal to mainstream audiences. This R&B soul artist with a performance flair has the right look and the right attitude to become a proper R&B / soul-magnet and audiences around the world are beginning to acknowledge the fact that a new creative force has arisen. Where will he take it from here? One critic wrote of his award-winning work: ‘This rock soul amalgam brings to boil the best elements of each style - 'Confessions Of Love' is stylish, expertly instrumented and legitimately self-descriptive.’ We suspect this artist will navigate the future on his own terms, given his obvious passion and musical skills. Independent reporter Alexis Adams recently caught up with Saturn to discuss his music and the interesting path by which he came to it.

ALEXIS: Let's just get this out in the open- What is the craziest thing that has happened to you in your music career?
SATURN: Many years ago, we were performing at the Hollywood Paladium. For those of you who remember, the Paladium would leave the pit free of seats, which would later become known as the "mosh pit." Well, during my bass solo I was so caught up in the moment that I did a "trust fall" into the mosh pit. They passed my body around, eventually getting it back to the stage unscathed. I remember our manager at the time, Charles Parker, gave me that look and the stage security guy saying, "Do you know those people?" I said, "No." He replied very sternly, "Can you NOT do that again?"

ALEXIS: Your song ’Confessions Of Love’ is receiving a positive listener response on radio. What was your initial reaction when you first heard your song playing on radio?
SATURN: I was elated. It came on and I started humming along with it then realized that it was on internet radio and not my stereo system. It was OUTSTANDING!!!

SATURN:

ALEXIS: It is often said that great art arises from difficult experience. Is there something in your life experience thus far that you would describe as the ‘catalyst’ or ‘fuel’ for your desire to create music?
SATURN: For us as a band, we just love to create and perform. This project is especially fun because we're all part of the writing process. For me personally speaking, I have been hoping to get through difficult times with family and close friends. You realize what's important and you just have to faithfully go for it. This music project is directly tied to my family's redemptive freedom.

ALEXIS: How would you characterize yourself as an artist/musician? (Ex. Down-to-earth, serious, fun-loving, complicated…)
SATURN: (Laughing) All of the above.

ALEXIS: What has your experience been like working with the other people on your team?
SATURN: It's great. Everyone brings their creative experiences to the table. We love it.

ALEXIS: Did you come from a musical background? Are there other musicians in your family?
SATURN: Yes, there is a long list of athletes and musicians in my family or a combination of both.

ALEXIS: What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What do you find most challenging?
SATURN: Feeling the vibrations from the audience. Making them smile and making them dance. That's what it's all about. Music is a universal language that touches the inner core of your heart and soul.

ALEXIS: Who are your role models in music?
SATURN: There are so many. Well there's the late great Maurice White and his bass playing brother, Verdine. Their music struck a chord with me way back in their Warner Brothers days the "Last Days And Times" album. I understood the message immediately. Then there's Frankie Beverly & Maze, Cameo, The Commodores, The Gap Band, Ohio Players, Chicago, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, Sly & The Family Stone, Prince, who we recently lost, Loose Ends. Jazz greats like Miles Davis, The Crusaders, Hiroshima, Bob James, George Duke. Then there's the grand Dame herself, the great Shirley Bassey. I could go on and on.

ALEXIS: Describe your best or most memorable performance.
SATURN: The best performance I think was at a West L.A. venue called The Gig. We had performed there before and were invited back to a packed house. That show was supposed to be recorded by the house sound engineer, but he forgot to start the recorder. It was an awesome show beacuse we weren't the only band on the bill, but the other bands followers had heard about us and we helped sell the place out. Good times!

ALEXIS: What advice would you give to young, aspiring artists out there who are unsure and need guidance?
SATURN: Keep at it. Dont give up, and practice, practice, practice.

ALEXIS: What's next for you as an artist? Is there a new single in the works? If so, what can you tell us about it?
SATURN: Well "Confessions Of Love" is the first single from our forthcoming album, "Redemption." The second single is "Party Time" and we're getting it ready to be released some time late June or July. We hope to have "Confessions of Love" drop some time in February and we hope to be doing a promotional tour for "Redemption."

ALEXIS: I look forward to hearing your new work! Thank you for letting us get to know you better as a musician and I wish you the best of luck and continued success.
