MJM

Known as a rock group with an enigmatic side, MJM's new single ‘Dogs Of War’ has exploded on radio and put this group on the world map.

There is something special happening with MJM, the talented rock group out of Toronto, Canada. A firm believer in the time-honored tradition of composition and careful attention to detail, MJM's work demonstrates how personal and affecting music can be when the right elements come together. This legitimacy is discernible from other angles. They have a deep understanding of the techniques and traditions of the rock genre which is perhaps why the critics had this to say about their award-winning work: ‘MJM's vocal overtones limn this melancholy alt-rocker with an almost palpable sense of distance - an adroit nuance to a highly charismatic cut.’ Reporter Blake Wright recently caught up with this talented group to learn more about their unique story and their plans for the future.

BLAKE: Let's just get this out in the open- What is the craziest thing that has happened to you in your music career?
MJM: There has never been anything crazy happen. I take this business seriously so bring it on!

MJM: Hey that?s good man! This song should be playing everywhere!

BLAKE: What was the inspiration behind your radio single?
MJM: The inspiration was all the political power mongers that have been so cruel to their fellow man.

BLAKE: It is often said that great art arises from difficult experience. Is there something in your life experience thus far that you would describe as the ‘catalyst’ or ‘fuel’ for your desire to create music?
MJM: Life itself and everything I take in on a daily basis and then my inspirations come from within.

BLAKE: How would you characterize yourself as an artist/musician?

MJM: Jesus and me are my role models!

BLAKE: Describe your best or most memorable performance.
MJM: It?s when people are throwing their fists in the air and banging their head on the stage!

BLAKE: What advice would you give to young, aspiring artists out there who are unsure and need guidance?
MJM: Play your instrument everyday.

BLAKE: What's next for you as an artist? Is there an album in the works? If so, what can you tell us about it?
MJM: I just released an album which is a compilation of the killer instrumentals from my last 3 albums. The world needs to hear that! There is a new MJM album in the works and it is sounding awesome!
